Gunite to Repair RCC Structures

Shotcrete more popularly known as “Gunite” in India, is a unique method that was invented specifically to repair RCC structures.

Typically an RCC building, over time exhibits cracks as the steel inside gets corroded due to seepage, generally causing the steel to expands 3 to 4 times its volume. This expansion causes cracks in the plaster. If the overlying plaster is poor quality, then it falls apart and has to be repaired.

The method of choice in such cases is Gunite or Shotcrete. Concrete is projected at a high velocity on to damaged concrete structures through a gun. This process combines application & compacting simultaneously, additionally using the force of the gun, to penetrate into hairline cracks, which normally cannot be accessed by hand.

This mechanised process relies on expertise & experience to determine the precise texture & composition of the material being used while maintaining the highest quality control to prevent any future cracks and failure of plaster.

This time tested system has worked out effectively and economically on a multitude of projects for the past several decades. Designed to last for 20 – 25 years, this system has remained effective, problem free and has stood test of time.

We at Painterior have made this system into a fine art. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
